I think this is it...

I got an email from J.Crew this morning, announcing the launch of their new bridal boutique. This is the last place I thought I'd even consider getting a dress but...I fell in love with one of their designs!

LOVE it...the only differences between this dress and what I was envisioning are the sleeve ruffle and the undershirt effect..but easy alterations, right?

The find is exciting :D

Added to the Denim Collection...

Dylan George - the Cara Moto Skinny!

I'm stoked...the moto skinny jean trend has been around since last fall and seems to still be going strong. Blank Denim has a pair, Vintage 1, and Current Elliot also had a few very cute styles. I've eyed the trend since then, and saw my chance on Hautelook and pounced today! Trendy or not, I love these...and they're my first pair of Dylan Georges!

I love the idea that you can dress these lovelies up with any plain shirt and still keep an edgy style. These are going to be fun.

Amazing denim from Versace and 7FAM!

I just found these through my normal morning sorting-of-the-fashion-newsletters routine - how amazing are these? Will the denim awesomeness ever quit?

First we have denim from Versace's Fall 2010 collection:

I'm not exactly sure how I'd rock them but I would try, why not?

Then there's 7 For all Mankind's Gwenevere Skinny in Crystal Wash Grey (as seen on Kourtney Kardashian)

I saw them at Tobi not long ago and finally they are seen in the real world. I love them!

Anyway, I had to sneak a moment away from work...back to the grind and TGIF!

On to the wedding!

So...as many girls could admit, I've been collecting ideas throughout my life that I'd love to apply to my upcoming wedding. The one that stands out to me the most is the idea I discovered while I was a banquet server at Marie Callender's at Pismo Beach: leaving disposable cameras on each table and leaving it up to your guests to snap as many photos as possible. I can't imagine how hilarious and enjoyable it must be to look through the developed results!

However, the most important detail hasn't ever been much of a thought to me, until now - what kind of dress would I like?

My fiancé is Greek, and i just so happen to love Greek styles so...why not a Grecian (maybe goddess) style? I love this idea!!

I definitely need white. I thought off-white could be fairly pretty but...not with a Grecian dress - although I'd be open to ideas if anyone has any.

So...my current idea is this top:

With a fuller skirt, maybe a train. I love the style of the neckline and bodice! But should I really do custom? It's an awesome idea but...I don't want to rack the price of this whole thing up too much...I REALLY love a lot of the designs from the famed wedding dress designer Vera Wang (I'd have one of her dresses in a second) but...reasonable? I don't yet know.

Or this idea from Etsy (although the back seems a bit cheap to me):

These are just ideas at this point, but I'm definitely leaning towards the Grecian design! I heard it's a bit common, but screw it...I'll make it something better :)

I found two great sources for wedding planning:
Martha Stewart Weddings and Wedding Aces. Both great sites!

A friend of mine since elementary school (although I lost contact with her after high school) is an amazing violinist who has played with the SLO Youth Symphony for quite some time and now has her own studio in Colorado. She is also a thought...she plays at weddings! What a cool idea...she can be found at www.mockupstudios.com.

We've also thought of honeymooning it in Hawaii....YESS!!! It's only been...how many years since...oh wait, NEVER have I been there, and always wanted to go!

Total Spacegoth...

So I've been looking at these Nina Ricci shoes for a few days...bueno or no bueno?

I don't think I'd be wearing them down the street on the normal basis that this photo suggests - although if I saw them while walking down the street I'd give the wearer my props - but my open, creative mind would like to assume there would be an appropriate time and place (big party? Rave? DJ gig?).

I at least admire the technology involved to make these wearable...and I want to try my hand at walking in these awesome things!

Opinions?

41 Pairs of Jeans?!

So...I've had many people respond to my large quantity of denim. Let me be specific: I consider myself a denim collector - the wide range of colors, styles, designs, fits (most girls know the drool generated by those that just make your butt look oh, oh so good, especially if you work hard for your shape), etc, each that work best with different outfits - or just moods - is just something that fascinates me to no end. So, I'll start my first real blog post with an illustration which will hopefully explain my obsession. I'll list a few that I have, or want, or just simply like, to show that denim is so, so much more than just the All-American Wrangler-type classic pair of blue jeans. No need to tuck your shirt into all of these. Here we go:

Brand/Style: Blue Notch - Birkin Skinny in Violet
I'm not that familiar with this brand but...just...look at this gem!

Brand: William Rast - Sadie boot in Moonlight
I bought these...they are not only comfortable but they go with everything! Just total awesomeness.

Brand: Frankie B - Iron Prepster Skinny in Mosaic
I have these too...couldn't pass them up! They are way too much fun on a great night downtown.

Brand: J Brand - Low Rise Pencil Leg Jeans in Oz
I've been close to getting these as they are quite the collector's item in Hollywood and just...dang cool. Kate Beckinsale rocks them just as I'd like them.

These are just a few of the most amazing styles I've ever seen, but don't forget the variety of fits - skinny, slouchy skinny, bootcut, straight, flare, boyfriend, and skinny boyfriend, to name just a few. Each brand fits differently as well, and some, like Frankie B and People's Liberation, come with varying and very cute back pocket designs. Combine brand, fit, color, style, etc and then you have obsessed, crazy people like me, who just cannot get enough.

So it's on...

Finally, after much mulling around, I finally started a blog. It wasn't long ago that I thought to myself, 'wtf would I even write about?' Maybe it took the countless fashion newsletters that flood my inbox, my 41st denim purchase, or perhaps it was my recent engagement and beginning stages of wedding planning that finally knocked some sense into me. Either way, this is me: I'm a web/graphic designer, a house/breakbeats DJ, a self-proclaimed casual luxury fashionista, and a lover of anything that strengthens the life I have away from my 8-5, 24/7 swivel chair-in-a-box. So here we go...everything fashion, denim, and wedding planning. Enjoy (new not-so-blank design coming soon)!
